| FLAMBOYAN |
| I've finally finished Flamboyan - after many false starts due to my poor colour and yarn choices |
About a month ago Stephen West - Westknits asked me to do a testknit for his latest shawl pattern, and I was only too happy to oblige. I have always loved his contemporary patterns for their simple stylish lines and non fuss approach, as a result, his request to do this testknit was something I didn't have to think about, it was a a straight out - yes | without even seeing the pattern first !
Once you do pick out your colour choices this is an easy to follow knit. I knitted the shawl until the Wollmeise [ dark blue ] ran out, and then commenced on knitting the rib edging with the Lang yarn. I have never knitted with either of these yarns before and I have to say they work so well together. The Wollmeise has the most beautiful depth of colour and with the texture and colour graduation of the Lang yarn, together, and once blocked have a divine drape with added interest because of the different fibers and colours.
I may have had a few false starts, however I love the pattern and I'm totally in love with the colour and yarn choice in the end | I know I will wear this to death !
